Martin Stein & Becky Terhaar of RMI Direct Marketing
Honored by the DMA List Leaders

RMI Direct Marketing Inc. is pleased to announce that on June 14th, at the 2010 List Leader of the Year Awards Dinner, Martin Stein will be posthumously awarded the List Leader of the Year, and Becky Terhaar will be honored as a Ron Davis Young List Professional of the Year.

 This year, we lost a wonderful friend, colleague, and mentor who dedicated much of his professional career to the advancement of the direct marketing industry. After a valiant two year battle against cancer, Martin Stein, CEO of RMI Direct Marketing, passed away on March 8, 2010. In honor of Martin's many contributions and achievements, the DMA List Leaders Group will posthumously award him the 2010 DMA List Leader of the Year.
Martin's career in direct marketing began in 1980 at Walter Karl Companies, Inc. where after just a year and a half, he was appointed Vice President of Brokerage. In 1985, Martin resigned from Walter Karl Companies and cofounded RMI Direct Marketing with a vision about how the direct marketing industry would be changing in coming years.
Martin was a former DMA List Leaders board member and past recipient of the HVDMA (Hudson Valley Direct Marketing Association) Founder’s Award. He was a voting member of the Direct Marketing Association and a member of the DMA List Council, DMA Non Profit Federation, DMA of Washington, DMA Special Interest Council and was on the Advisory Board for the DMA’s PAC Organization.
Martin devoted countless man hours and resources towards education including dozens of scholarship donations, training programs and the development of two highly praised symposiums: the RMI Annual Health Mailer and Nonprofit Mailer Symposiums, approaching their 10th and 5th years respectively.

Becky Terhaar | 2010 DMA Ron Davis Young List Professional of the Year
 With a degree in Visual Communications, Becky Terhaar joined RMI Direct Marketing in 2005 as Marketing Coordinator and was promoted to Advertising & Marketing Manager in 2007.
Becky is nearing five years of industry experience and is an innovator in her approach to marketing. She has accelerated RMI to the cutting edge of trends and technology, being responsible for the launch of their e-newsletter and email marketing systems, blog, video marketing, datacard search engine marketing and more.
She consistently brings new, innovative ideas to RMI and our clients, and has an innate ability to grasp a clients’ vision and apply that understanding to create the most effective promotions.
Becky is extremely active in the industry, volunteering her time to benefit multiple organizations. For the Hudson Valley Direct Marketing Association’s (HVDMA), she designed their acquisition brochure, and their holiday auction brochures for the past two years. She also contributed greatly to the Direct Marketing Club of New York’s 25th Anniversary Silver Apples Awards by designing their invitation, sponsorship brochure, signs and commemorative posters.
