The Mayo Clinic: Faith, Hope, Science

Main Image

A PBS Documentary, is a must see as it tells the history of the Mayo Clinic and provides many uplifting stories from Doctors, Nurses and Patients.

Faith, Hope and Science is a two-hour documentary by filmmakers Ken Burns, Erik Ewers and Christopher Loren Ewers that takes a look at the 150-year history starting with a partnership between the Mayos and the Sisters of Saint Francis.

William Worrall Mayo and sons, Will and Charlie, believed in working together as a team, sharing knowledge and techniques rather than existing as isolated physicians. As more heard about their successes, their facility attracted doctors from around the world who wanted to share findings and techniques and learn what they could do better.

This is a fascinating story about the Mayo Clinic and how the Mayo’s shaped medical treatment in the United States.  Well worth the 2 hours.
